Ministry Teams
One way we equip our post-college members for the work of ministry is by inviting those who are able to join to become Ministry Team Members.
Most Team Members serve covocationally, which means that they continue to work a “day job” while serving in ministry — and by ministry, we don't simply mean the operation of our local church. Most of our ministries happen out in the field: reaching students on the college campus, serving other churches who are under-resourced, caring for the elderly in nursing homes, or working with children in low-income areas.
It’s our passion to help every believer discover their God-given potential. Few of our members are particularly charismatic or outstandingly talented, but we’ve seen countless ordinary men and women rise up to be leaders, ministers, and even church-planters.
One key way we equip our members for the work of ministry is by inviting our post-undergrad members who are able to join as Ministry Team Members. In our ministry teams, we not only work together towards a common mission, but also disciple one another and bear each other’s burdens through all the ups and downs of Christian life.
Most team members serve covocationally, which means that they continue to work a day job while serving in ministry — and by ministry, we don't simply mean the operation of our local church. Fulfilling the Great Commission
In our Ministry Teams, we work hard together to reach the lost through faithful evangelism, creative programs, and authentic community. Joining a ministry team does involve a high level of time commitment. Some have compared being a team member of Gracepoint to being part of a busy start-up — an experience that is intense, even all consuming. Many of our team members volunteer 20+ hours of their time, although that amount may differ depending on the individual’s needs and season of life.

Life-on-life discipleship
The close relationships we develop in our Ministry Teams provide an ideal context for discipleship. Every Team Member is discipled by a mentor, and we also disciple each other horizontally through regular encouragement and accountability. We strive to provide some amount of challenge for each Team Member, while also being sensitive to each person’s unique strengths and weaknesses, needs, and abilities.

Covenantal community
We believe that the ultimate goal of the Great Commission is to form the church, the community of believers. And so we not only work together in our Ministry Teams, but we’re a spiritual family as well.
Like anyone else, our Team Members struggle with the full range of life challenges: busy seasons at work, children with disabilities, battles with addictions and mental health issues, and more.
Rejoicing with those who rejoice, weeping with those who weep, we’re in this for the long haul. We like to say that we’re covenantally committed to one other.

Joining Team
Throughout the year, we have opportunities for local Gracepoint church members throughout our network to join our Ministry Team. While all members are eligible to join the Ministry Team, not everyone is able to serve, and that’s OK. Every member, regardless of the level they are able to serve at, is integral to the body of Christ.
